10 Steps to being Healthier
As a one to one personal trainer in London. The first step to getting any client the results they want and deserve is building healthy habits. These habits will be transferred into the rest of there journey whether that’s, muscle gain, fat loss or a body transformation.
The 10 tips below are areas I focus on with clients in phase 1 (building healthy habits) They can be implemented into a muscle gain food plan, weight loss diet plan or a lifestyle change. Take three points away and apply them to your lifestyle this week, when these become apart of your life naturally. Pick three more.
EAT YOUR VEGETABLES - vegetables as part of an overall healthy diet are likely to have a reduced risk of some chronic diseases. vegetables provide nutrients vital for health and maintenance of your body.
GET A GOOD NIGHT'S SLEEP - we understand the importance of sleep to overall health and well-being. we've learned, that when people get less than 6 to 7 hours of sleep performance decreases, hormones are affected, appetite increases and overall health will suffer.
EXERCISE DAILY – I don’t mean hit PBs every day. this can be meeting your step target of 10,000 on your rest day. but, staying active and weight training on a regular basis, 2-3 times a week.
EAT YOUR FRUITS – much like veggies, fruit provide incredible micronutrients to the body for overall health and performance. plus, they taste good!
GIVE YOURSELF A BREAK – this can be taken both physically and mentally. taking a break from training and your normal day to day life will benefit you hugely. I recommend going for a weekend getaway every quarter of the year.
HYDRATION – the big one! I can’t stress hydration enough. we simplify need this for life. if your body is 60% water and your dehydrated and you wonder why performance feels off, your skin looks worse or your lacking energy. maybe because most of your body isn’t working properly.
REMOVE PROCESSED FOODS – consuming processed foods can lead to more sugar, salt and fat being added to your diet. you might not be aware of how much has been added to the food you are buying and eating out.
EAT CARBS – carbs are your body's main source of energy. glucose (sugar) is absorbed into your blood. the glucose then enters your body's cells. This is what is going to fuel your performance for building muscle and general life activities.
CONSIDER CERTAIN SUPPLEMENTS – I would recommend everyone to take a multivitamin, fish oil/krill oil, vitamin d and magnesium these should be in your daily routine. I will explain more in another post.
CHEW YOUR FOOD – chewing your food 20-30 times before swallowing will reduce stress on your gut preventing in less digestive stress, like bloating.
Stay positive,
Brandon
