3 Fat Loss Tips
This message is going to explore some of the reasons you may not have necessarily thought about when you think about fat loss.
Despite what you have heard, fat loss isn’t all about diet and exercise. Health is such a large component of fat loss and it is often undervalued.
If your body isn’t working quite right before you start a diet, you will probably end up joining the many people that the weight they lost straight back on again. By fixing your underlying issues in your body, you can create a healthier and more efficient system.
Below are 3 reasons why you may be struggling to lose fat, together with some top tips to help address them:
Stress
In today's hectic world we are constantly fighting against stress. Money, work and lack of sleep are all levels of stress that can cause people to have elevated levels of the stress hormone called cortisol. If left unchecked, high levels of cortisol can cause your immune system to weaken and damage the health of your digestive system.
If any of these forms of stress are left unchecked, you will find fat loss very difficult.
You must make sure you get at least 6-7 hours of uninterrupted sleep per night consistently.
Toxicity
Many of the chemicals found in our food cause hormonal imbalances that lead to weight gain. Toxins slow down your thyroid which affects your metabolism and slows down fat loss.
The liver is the organ that is responsible for metabolising fat, if it is burdened with toxins you will really struggle to lose body fat. There are studies that say that the more toxic you are the more fat the body creates as a protection mechanism.
My top tips for helping cut back on your toxic load is to cut back on processed foods and go for organic fresh lean meats, fish, fruits and vegetables. Fit a water filter and drink clean purified water.
Digestive
If you're facing digestive system issues, fat loss very difficult to achieve. Your digestive health can be compromised in a few ways.
Inflammation of the stomach can be caused by food sensitivities. My top tip to help improve your digestive system is to remove allergenic foods from your diet. The classics are wheat, dairy or gluten. Go without them for 5-10 days and then reintroduce them one by one to find out which one causes a reaction.
Your ability to lose body fat and improve your health goes deeper than just diet and exercise.
You are making a commitment to your own health. If you make this a part of your life, you will continue to lose body fat and you will keep it off long term.
